Hi, I’m Jake.
I’m a creative writer, graphic designer, and experienced marketing professional. I’m currently completing a PhD at Griffith University (Gold Coast) and am the Marketing Manager at Silk Laundry.
For the past 7 years, I’ve worked in fashion — notably surf and, more recently, luxury. I’ve also worked as a journalist, product designer, and digital/social media strategist. In 2016 I started my own magazine called Us Wayfarers, which I ran for almost 2 years.
My creative memoir about Australian surfer Taj Burrow was published by Fremantle Press in April 2021. The book is called ‘Lines to the Horizon: Australian surf writing’ and was cover quoted by Tim Winton.
When I have spare time I like to ride motorbikes, surf, read, and hang out with my fiancé. I live in Banora Point, about 30 seconds south of the New South Wales border.
